Most sealing failures in cam and groove couplings come down to one of two things: the elastomer can't handle the process fluid, or a solid PTFE gasket has crept under load and lost its sealing force. FEP encapsulated gaskets address both.

The construction is simple but effective a rectangular elastomeric core, either Silicone or Viton™/FKM, fully wrapped in an FEP outer layer. The FEP handles the chemistry. The elastomeric core handles the mechanics. Together they outperform both solid PTFE and unprotected rubber across the widest possible range of conditions.
